Product Manager - Partnerships and Integrations at Ripl

Ripl (www.Ripl.com) is passionate about helping small businesses grow by leveraging the magic of social media. Our new Product Manager role (think classic, with a twist or two!) is key to that mission. The focus of the role is on identifying, evaluating, scoping, and then managing the establishment of integration-based software partnerships for Ripl with other tools, online marketplaces, and mobile app providers which focus on domestic and global small businesses. Over time this role will evolve into one that also focuses on developing co-marketing partnerships with national and global technology services, financial services, sales support, and other market sectors with large companies that serve small businesses at scale.

You have a sixth sense to go beyond the obvious wins in business relationships to see the nuances that create fulfilling short- and long-term strategic partnerships. You are technical enough to be able to read 3rd party software and online marketplace API documentation and identify the integration opportunities for our company. You work well in a collaborative environment where everyone is outspoken and the best ideas win regardless of origin.

Performance Objectives:

Within the first 30 days, you will develop a deep understanding of Ripl’s upsell and subscriptions-based business model, and you will identify partner opportunities with intrinsic value to result in a win for our segmented customer bases and a win for partners which result in a win for Ripl. Then, it is off to the races with variety and the chance to use your left and right brain:

  • You will run multiple cycles for partnership integration opportunities, and you will develop these relationships through frequent phone and email communications with our partners to keep them informed and engaged.
  • You will review API technical documentation for 3rd party software tools, to identify opportunities based on an assessment of the end points relevant to our software and customers.
  • You will create a short-list of direct back-end software platform to platform integration opportunities for Ripl with other software platforms in the marketplace.
  • Within a week of identifying the opportunity, you will produce a software development costing document, taking into account both the backend and client environments. You will validate these costing documents with your internal engineering colleagues.
  • You will create an internal business proposal for each opportunity, to be evaluated by the Chief Operating Officer who serves as the Team Leader for Ripl’s Partnerships and Integrations team overseeing all of our business development and partner activities.
  • You will continually evaluate up-sell and subscription based strategies to generate 1-2 additional partnership opportunities/month for the company and pursue them proactively as your time warrants.

Success Criteria for this Role:

  • Ability to manage multiple cycles in parallel
  • Optimize engineering time to build and quickly reach a go/no-go decision
  • Ability to work fast paced cycles – deploy > evaluate > optimize in two weeks or less
  • Detailed reporting on partnership relationships including KPI’s, and other metrics for continued evaluation
  • Constant refactoring of your weekly priorities and opportunities

Technical and Subject Matter Expertise Qualifications for this Role:

  • Mobile and ecommerce analytics and tools – apptimize, amplitude, FB analytics, stripe, mobile install attribution
  • Incremental development and deployment, leveraging A/B testing
  • Writing functional requirements
  • Writing data queries in SQL
  • Basic software metrics reporting
  • Mastery of spreadsheets, including pivot tables
  • Python skills would be a BIG plus
