VICIS seeks a team player with strong technical skills, customer focus, and operational experience working in an agile startup environment. The IT Systems Administrator will anchor a small team in providing exceptional technical support to our internal employees across four main offices as well as a field sales group. The successful candidate will provide all facets of IT Systems Administration, from IT service desk support and troubleshooting to configuration and ongoing maintenance of servers, network infrastructure, backup systems, applications, and workstations across each of our locations.

Roles and Responsibilities

    • Provide timely and professional IT support via phone, email, web or in-person
    • Application support including Microsoft Windows 10 and the Microsoft Office suite, Office 365, VPN, Mitel VoIP, Adobe products, Enterprise Antivirus products, Solidworks, and Web conferencing (GoToMeeting, Zoom)
    • Hardware procurement and support including Microsoft, Apple, and Lenovo desktop/laptop workstations and docks, servers, monitors, printers, Mitel desk phones, and conference room equipment
    • Manage peripheral IT equipment such as the VoIP phone system, wireless routers, networked lab equipment, specialty lab software, etc.
    • Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, components, software, license keys, etc.; procure hardware and software as needed for users; configure and maintain hardware and support IT best practices
    • Collaborate with the CIO to recommend information technology strategies, architecture, policies, & procedures; comply with and expand security practices; provide basic cost analysis on IT expenditures
    • Support data collection and management using various SQL databases and custom user interfaces
    • Develop and manage integration of deployment automation with production and fulfilment systems
    • Establish and maintain written procedures and documentation for relevant IT systems


      • 2-year or 4-year degree preferred
      • Superb verbal and written communication skills; ability to describe technical concepts to a non-technical audience
      • Good organizational skills and the ability to track and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
      • Relevant certifications, such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Solutions Associate) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) MCITP Microsoft Certified IT Professional, MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
      • Experience with our current technologies (not limited to):
Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, and Exchange Online (Office 365)

VPN and Remote Access
Experience with Hyper-V
