Tech Lead, Customer Success Tools 

As a Tech Lead at Remitly, you are a builder and a leader, responsible for taking on complex technical and customer problems and creating great products backed by great systems. We use cutting edge languages, tools, and frameworks to build applications and services on top of a scalable cloud architecture. A successful Tech Lead will lead engineers on the team with a focus on setting technical direction, hiring and developing your team members, leading technical reviews, and contributing directly by writing code to help the team meet its goals. You will be responsible for taking on complex projects and delivering value thru well architect and easy to use systems.  

The Tech Lead for our Customer Success Tools (CST) team is responsible for the tools that our team of Customer Service representatives use to help customers with problems. Your team will be implementing new tools and workflows on Salesforce Service Cloud. The CST team is just getting started, and you will be creatively building experiments to make the Remitly customer service experience the best in Fintech!

 

Key Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with our Customer Success Associates (the most important employees at Remitly) to understand their needs and build them great tools.
  • You’ll set and drive the technical direction for the team, making good tradeoffs between shipping code and technical investment.
  • You’ll build frameworks and processes to help the team operate autonomously and deliver product features rapidly, with a focus on quality and customer value.
  • You’ll work hands on with the code, diving in where and as necessary to help deliver new features or debug live issues.
  • You’ll participate in the ideation, technical design, and grooming of new features with a data-driven and customer-centric viewpoint.
  • You’ll partner with product and engineering management, influencing the product roadmap by presenting technical options and tradeoffs.
  • You’ll create a positive, challenging, and rewarding environment for the team.
  • You’ll help define and meet the hiring plan for the team, sourcing and interviewing a diverse set of candidates.
  • You’ll manage and mentor engineers, helping them grow and advance their careers.

Qualifications

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience working on Salesforce Service Cloud.
  • Experience defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team.
  • A proven track record of shipping features and products to customers.
  • Strong ability to develop, mentor, and influence other engineers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
