Brand Marketing Director at Owlet Baby Care

SUMMARY: Are you ready to work for a high-growth company making a huge impact in the lives of parents and babies around the world? Owlet Baby Care, the award-winning startup that transformed the baby industry in 2015 with its first-of-its-kind Smart Sock baby monitor, is looking for a Brand Director. This exciting role will help shape and execute brand and product-launch campaigns, proving to parents why Owlet dominates the baby industry. We’re looking for a creative and strategic marketer – a superstar who is comfortable owning a campaign from concept to execution. You will report directly to Owlet’s chief brand officer.

After creating its own category within infant health, Owlet became widely recognized by top tech experts, pediatricians and hundreds of thousands of parents looking for a solution to keeping their babies safe and happy through technology. Owlet is now looking for someone with a passion for baby wellness to craft brand campaigns and powerful messaging that drive growth and to continue positioning the company as the leader in the smart nursery space. You will be a key leader to bring its mission of providing the right information at the right time to parents everywhere.

You will also have the unique opportunity to help launch up and coming, category-creating products, including the new Owlet Band pregnancy monitor. This pregnancy tracker is another first-of-its-kind category creation that has won two distinctive awards at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) for Best Wearable and Tech to Change the World.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help create Owlet’s annual integrated marketing plans, ensuring the brand has meaningful long-term consumer positioning and achieves maximum volume profit/growth
  • Ideate and implement powerful integrated marketing campaigns (and amazing brand moments!) to elevate awareness of Owlet and its standout products
  • Determine how our campaigns and marketing efforts show up in each of our owned and paid channels
  • Own the marketing team’s integrated marketing calendar, ensuring each marketing element is brought to life as planned
  • Help support creative direction around marketing initiatives, including the creation of cohesive assets for the company’s owned and paid channels
  • Help create unique, influential and stand-out materials around campaigns, advertising and social channels
  • Provide leadership and creative thinking to the analysis of market trends, and the identification of new market opportunities - help us stay on the leading-edge

 

  • Provide timely and consistent communication of brand activity and key information to internal business partners
  • Ensure campaign concepts are on brand, strategically sound and measurable in their impact  
  • Source external talent and agencies when necessary and manage their work 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6-10 years of experience (consumer products preferred) in brand and marketing
  • You have experience overseeing the implementation of integrated marketing campaigns
  • SUPER creative – you’re always bringing fresh ideas to the table
  • Strong project management skills – you are comfortable managing a marketing calendar and ensuring each campaign element is delivered on time
  • Minimum 3-5 years proven track record of managing others
  • A high comfort level in a fast-growth start-up environment with a lot of ambiguity and change
