Lookout is looking for a creative storyteller to join our communications team. You will work closely with the communications manager and the marketing team on social media, public relations and internal communications. The ideal candidate is a concise, engaging and innovative writer who knows how to create compelling narratives – whether it’s in a tweet, an internal email or a blog post. You’re familiar with mainstream social media platforms but aren’t afraid to experiment. Most importantly, you’re humble, collaborative and willing to learn.This is a paid internship with a commitment of 20 or more hours a week for six months. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. There may be an opportunity to convert into a full-time at the conclusion.

Responsibilities:

    Develop creative social media strategies to engage with B2B and B2C audiences
    Empower Lookout employees with social content that amplifies our social voice
    Actively monitor social channel to insert Lookout into relevant conversations
    Write social media copy and strategize posting schedules
    Work closely with public relations teams to keep track of media coverage
    Produce internal emails to inform employees about media coverage and inspire them to post Lookout content on social media
    Assist in editing and writing marketing content

Requirements:

    Pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, creative writing or journalism
    Experienced in running social media for a school club or an organization
    Concise, engaging and creative writer
    Knowledgeable about LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
    Familiar with public relations or journalism best practices (e.g., AP Style)
    Ability to write concise, engaging content
    Can distill complex ideas into easy-to-understand copy
    Able to write eye-catching headlines that include provocative turns of phrase
    Familiar with social media best practices for LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
    Interested in B2B marketing and technology news

Bonus points:

    Ability to create multimedia assets, such as audio, video and graphics
    Experienced in working with content management systems
    Interested in the cybersecurity industry
