We are seeking a leader in analyst and media relations, who is able to drive strategy and engagement with industry influencers as well as business, technology and broad media. The ideal person is self-driven, has cybersecurity experience, knows the relevant analysts and reporters that cover cybersecurity, and has proven success in building collaborative relationships with them and their peers at work. This role reports to the Vice President of Marketing. We are looking for a bold leader who builds trust, is committed to excellence, puts customers first and is accountable.

Role Responsibilities

    Lead the strategy and execution for analyst relations
    Collaborate with the strategy, product management and product marketing teams to create a plan to learn from analysts and influence them
    Read, analyze and share reports published that are directly related to Lookout and its partner ecosystem
    Communicate insights to appropriate stakeholders who can take action
    Ensure consistent analyst engagement that it is an authentic two-way dialog
    Develop personal rapport with analysts – people do business with people they like
    Coach spokespersons on analyst interests and best practices to engage them
    Use key themes from analyst reports as a way to frame news announcements (e.g., Zero Trust, CARTA)
    Ensure analysts are kept abreast of Lookout (e.g., key partnerships, new customers, new threat discoveries, research)
    Set and deliver KPIs to achieve a strong balance of coverage in broad (e.g., USA Today), business and tech publications, as well as print, digital and broadcast media.
    Coordinate with peers for input into media strategy
        Theatre marketing leaders provide insight into how PR and social media can drive awareness relevant to campaigns
        Product marketing develops content including original research reports that can be leveraged for engaging the media
        Research team publishes original threat discoveries that can be used to broad pitching or garnering in-depth exclusive coverage (e.g., Monokle)
    Communicate the strategy and drive execution with worldwide PR agencies
        Create a collaborative environment with the agencies and members of the Lookout team to increase the breadth and depth of media coverage
        Lead the development of creative media pitches
    Develop spokespersons and provide media training as needed
    Provide quarterly internal reports on media and social media performance.


    7+ years of marketing communications for technology SaaS companies with direct responsibility for either media and/or analyst relations
    Previous experience at a cybersecurity company. A passion for enterprise technology, particularly around endpoint security, mobile and cloud
    Proven success developing strong analyst relationships, delivering winning placement in analyst reports, and running a global PR program that produces strong coverage
    Experience working with top industry analyst firms including Gartner, Forrester and IDC
    Past results driving coverage in top-tier business, tech and broad media including print, digital and broadcast.
    Proven ability to build senior executive relationships, handle senior spokesperson preparations, and create engaging experiences for analyst and reporters
    A self-starter and independent-thinker who is able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
    A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills who can effectively work with multiple stakeholders across the organization
    Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    Demonstrate strong listening and information gathering skills for uncovering and defining deliverables and outcomes.
