Senior Analyst - Business Analytics at Remitly

The International Business Analytics team is looking for an outstanding hands-on Analyst to drive continued growth in our high growth customer segments including with a significant focus on customers sending money transfer to Africa corridors. Within this role, you’ll be working very closely with the regional business managers to deep dive into customer behaviour, surface key insights, create hypotheses, set and analyse the test reads, as we balance intellectual rigor with a bias for action. This is a high-visibility role, and strong communication skills are required. The ideal candidate for this role is intellectually curious, data savvy and skilled in actionable business reporting and hypothesis driven analytics. Knowledge and cultural context of East or West African diaspora communities is strongly preferred. This role is based in our London office. 

What you’ll be doing:

As a member of Remitly’s International Business Analytics Team, you will be deeply integrated into our growth engine, generating insights through analytics to identify opportunities and drive decision making. In a lean organisation you will work cross functionally, interacting both across the organisation and directly with senior stakeholders to influence the decisions we make.  

This role will be expected to:

  • Utilise customer data to better understand customer behaviour in order to drive both customer engagement and customer acquisition
  • Design and analyse quantitative tests to validate customer or business hypothesis
  • Model development to accurately forecast the business impact, return on investment, customer lifetime value and other metrics that help to optimise our existing customer base and optimise our customer acquisition
  • Ongoing analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of existing marketing channels and campaigns, identifying opportunities to improve trial and conversion as well as customer lifetime value (LTV)
  • White-space problem solving to identify opportunities including customer segmentation, gap analysis, or other ad-hoc needs
  • External benchmarking and scenario analysis to guide sound business decisions
  • Create and implement complex analytical and data-driven projects, e.g. segmentation, A/B test. to support sound business decisions

Who we are looking for:

We need a self-motivated analyst who is driven to succeed and is ready for an opportunity to make a big impact at a fast growing unicorn. You will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years experience doing quantitative analysis. Marketing/customer analytics experience preferred.  
  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in mathematics, engineering, business, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Ability to communicate data-based decisions to individual contributors as well as leadership. You are able to articulate clearly and defend your decision making process. `
  • Data-mining abilities with ability to evaluate results and make recommendations for continuous improvement; comfortable with being hands on with SQL and Excel. Exposure to python or R preferred and data visualisation tools such as tableau.
  • Ability to analyse A/B tests and provide comprehensive test readouts with well thought through recommendations
  • Track record of working in a collaborative and fast paced environment under aggressive timelines and managing multiple priorities
  • Highly customer centric, with a strong desire to proactively learn about different customer behaviours and use this learning to create a strategy to optimise our key corridors including within East/West Africa
  • Knowledge and cultural context of East or West African diaspora communities is strongly preferred.
