After four years of policy headwinds, we are at an inflection point, projecting to grow 3-4x every year through the Biden administration and become the first brand in an industry that has never had one before.

Role overview

As we scale rapidly from 125 FTEs to 300+ over the next 12 months around the world, we’re looking for a Chief of Staff to work as the CEO’s extension and thought partner to execute on an increasing complex and critical basket of priorities. Areas of focus will flex fully from the strategic to the tactical around post-merger management, performance management, people operations, resource planning, internal communications, cross-functional products, and more. Whatever it takes, the Chief of Staff is there to champion projects, manage and support people, processes, and communications until the result is achieved. 

It is a versatile “swiss-army knife” role with ample opportunities to learn and make a difference, and is the perfect role for someone who wants a front-row seat as a startup grows into a company. You will bring significant improvements to the organization’s performance, lead essential projects, get a lot of responsibility, and exposure to different teams and parts of the company, the executive team and the board. You will report directly to the CEO, Xiao Wang. You won’t have a permanent team – instead, you’re expected to collaborate across the organization, leading and influencing decisions without formal authority, using the power of expertise, data, and inspiring, effective communication. 

What you'll do

  • Spearhead specific strategic projects/initiatives, acting as an interim leader to execute on high priority business areas or initiatives: scoping, setting goals and success metrics, reporting on outcomes.
  • Act as a problem-solving partner to the CEO, when it comes to strategic goals, performance management, execution issues, communications, stakeholder management. Act as a problem-solving partner to functional leaders to elevate their thinking and execution.
  • Analyze business drivers and levers to prioritize highest impact projects, prepare business cases, quantify the business impact of projects and initiatives.
  • Work hand in hand with the CEO and other functional leaders, making sure that the operating rhythm and agenda of key meetings enable the company to stay in sync and achieve its strategic goals. Lead, influence, and inspire without formal authority.
  • Elevate internal communications and culture-building at the company, leading the preparation of all-hands meetings, board presentations, team and leadership offsites, and relevant follow-up actions. 
  • Develop, align and establish performance metrics and OKRs across the company.
  • Act as a true generalist, doing whatever it takes to help the business succeed.

Location

We work remotely, but you will have to be available during standard Pacific Time. You will have a direct influence over how exactly the post-COVID workplace looks for Boundless.
