As a Site Reliability Engineer at Owlet, you’ll partner with the platform and operations team to tune the availability of our services. With a focus on uptime and performance, you’ll shape areas like infrastructure orchestration, continuous integration, security, configuration/change management, and participate in incident management. With a passion for innovation and an instinct for reliability and scalability, you’ll automate yourself out of manual and repetitive tasks.



  • Champion troubleshooting and recovery of complex production incidents of all impact levels
  • Shape a systematic problem-solving approach with a strong sense of ownership
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure stellar uptime for our customers
  • Manage incident-resolution documentation through run books
  • Guide the roadmap of the platform team to foster ever-improving system reliability
  • Cultivate new designs, architectures, standards, and methods to support the stability and availability of large-scale distributed systems
  • Proactively monitor all services and infrastructure with availability, latency, performance, and capacity top of mind
  • Identify gaps and opportunities and lead the evolution of monitoring and alerting strategies
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) following critical production incidents and drive mitigation strategies
  • Seek and implement opportunities to automate routine maintenance tasks and resolve common issues
  • Enhance technical skills and expertise and share knowledge with others



  • You have 3+ years of experience as an SRE or related area exercising DevOps principles
  • Strong interest in analyzing and troubleshooting highly available services with a distributed architecture
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems and networking and security fundamentals
  • Experience with major cloud providers like AWS and GCP
  • Experience maintaining infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience building and maintaining pipelines with CICD tools like Codefresh or CircleCI
  • Experience with monitoring services and tools like Datadog, NewRelic, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent
  • The ability to explain your ideas clearly, give and receive feedback, and work well with team members
  • Pride in fostering stellar uptime, your unique views, and original ideas



  • You have experience developing and deploying with Kubernetes
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with load testing and performance tuning
