Software Engineering Manager - Mobile SDK at Lookout

The SDK team is a team within the larger Mobile Client Team which develops mobile client products for both Android and iOS.  The team provides an SDK for Lookout’s customers that are looking to incorporate security functionality into their host application. This team works closely with other mobile client teams within Lookout and shares key software components.  In addition, it works hand-in-hand with the Lookout backend teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in quickly delivering mobile security SDKs that are widely adopted by Lookout customers
  • Work with product managers and architects to define and execute on new products
  • Collaborate with product leadership to develop Lookout’s long-term product roadmap
  • Provide both technical and product leadership, ensuring high quality in both areas
  • Manage a team of mobile engineers, supporting their development with technical, product, and strategic mentorship
  • Able to handle multiple projects/client engagements
  • Drive new initiatives to improve team productivity (tools, methodologies)

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of mobile frameworks(Android or iOS)
  • Demonstrated track record of managing high-performing product engineering teams
  • Passion for innovation and delivery of high quality products
  • Experience developing and launching successful products
  • Strong CS fundamentals and background
  • Passion for Agile methodologies and its application in complex environments
  • Ability to understand & review code
  • Experience working in customer support scenarios

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing teams across multiple time zones
  • Understanding of both mobile application development platforms (Android & iOS)
