Senior Consumer Research Manager at Owlet Baby Care
Lehi, UT, US / Remote

 We are seeking a curious and empathetic Senior Consumer Research Manager to lead generative and validation research studies to inform the future direction of Owlet products. You will be part of establishing a research function within the product team at a period of high growth for the organization. This role reports to the Director of Innovation.



As a Sr. Consumer Research Manager you will lead research projects around the world, with the goal of understanding the user to uncover unmet and latent needs, and advocating for them across the organization, including: 

  •  Understand how the business works, and what role research plays
    • Amplify and advocate for consumer first approach to product development
    • Help codify, contribute to, and guide Product Managers through our standard operating procedures for research projects
  • Define the scope of research projects and see them through to completion
    • Fully support CX and UX research across all products and Owlet user experience
    • Work with stakeholders (Product Managers, Designers, Marketing) to frame the problem to understand through research
    • Serve as an internal consultant for product teams that both helps scope, launch, and reports on different research projects by product
      • Define the research methodology, conduct the research, and analyze the findings
      • Identify and leverage contractors where we don’t have bandwidth or capabilities
      • Ensures we have appropriate vendors and tools set up for research 
    • Conduct foundational research
    • Create research findings reports, with key recommendations and takeaways, and socialize research findings across appropriate teams
    • Set up research logistics and develop research collateral for product teams - recruiting, discussion guides, surveys
  • Advance the research discipline
    • Stay up to date on advances within the field including methods and tools to aid the research process


  • Experience in conducting qualitative consumer research and extrapolating insights to drive meaningful impact on product direction
  • Experience conducting quantitative studies
  • Experience with innovation a bonus
  • Ability to both be in the weeds and operate at a strategic level
