At Boundless, we're breaking down the barriers of the immigration system and are looking for an experienced IT leader to seed and build an IT organization that will make life easier for our employees and keep our systems secure for customers.

If you're passionate about creating and implementing systems and processes that enable people to help themselves, excited to hire and develop your own team, and if automation is the first thing that comes to your mind when solving a problem then this position will be a good fit for you.

During your first month in this role, you will:

  • Discover our architecture, practices, and culture. You will work to understand our existing processes, policies, and infrastructure and will work closely with the VP of Engineering to develop plans to address shortcomings in these systems and processes.
  • Start getting your hands dirty with automation. You will start creating fundamental processes and systems that will support our growth as a company. Some of the potential projects you will lead throughout your first year include building out equipment management and provisioning infrastructure, disengaging from an IT MSP provider, and tool/systems access management.

Within three months, you will:

  • Execute on IT projects. You will switch to a more proactive role as you gain an understanding of our systems and our needs. You will form relationships with other functional leaders in the company (HR, Talent Acquisition, Growth, Customer Success, etc.) to learn about their objectives and build processes to help them achieve their goals and execute their plans. You will become the go-to person for anything relating to IT at Boundless.
  • Start building and developing our IT team. Inline with the projects you'll be tackling, you will identify the team members we need to hire to achieve our goals and will own the hiring process for your team.

Within a year, you will:

  • Create a roadmap for IT. You will be part of our quarterly planning sessions and will develop and own your OKRs for Boundless IT inline with our overall company objectives. You will work with your peers and other Boundless partners to ensure alignment on our IT roadmap.
  • Extend your impact to security and infrastructure. You will partner with our Engineering team to extend your impact beyond the more traditional space covered by IT into security and infrastructure for our platform.

About this position:

We have a mostly-Apple platform and 100% of our tools and data are in the cloud. You will be hands-on in implementing tools, software, and automation and will be responsible for building and managing your IT team over time. Knowledge of available tools to solve IT problems and industry best-practices is essential. Our current technologies in use include Okta, GSuite, JAMF, Adobe, Aircall, Front, Slack, 1Password, and more — experience with these tools is highly preferred but not required.
